| This is my (technically) 1 year old tank. It has been re-scaped and basically emptied out 3 times but now I am probably going to keep it about the same. It is a mixed reef, SPS, LPS, softies clams, everything. The lighting is a 150w sunpod, and a coralife 14k bulb that will be replaced with a phoenix soon. I have a sapphire aquatics skimmer, it is currently awaiting a new impeller as mine shattered. Not really running any chemipure purigen etc. or cheato in this tank. Stock return pump and two koralia ones for flow. Anyway, an unknown weight of live rock, about two inches of live sand and thats about it. As of right now I have basically SPS and clams. A couple palys/zoa, and thats about it. I have one clown fish. Here are the funny parts, one huge almost two feed across brittle star, he eats the weak. The other is a peppermint shrimp, really no problem but he should probably go. I suck at tank pictures, a lot so these are pretty bad. You can get the idea of it. Ignore the two big rocks in the middle, I recently re-scaped and had those left over. | |

| On the settings you can change the highest size. Other than that my camera takes huge pics, 15mp.
Umm feeding? I dose but they are fully photosynthetic after they are 2+ inches. They do keep my nitrates at zero, and my skimmer impeller is broken so thats handy lol

| clams are also filter feeders. I feed Golden Pearl and i just got a huge container prob last 2 years. If you would like to try it for sps and clams i would recommend it. The combo of that and rotifers are like crack to them. High in proteins | |

| Thats true, but they can live off the energy from the sybiotic algae in their mantle. They are bringing down my nitrates, actually keeping them at 0 lol. I do put some phyto in though. | |

| thanks becky. i am putting together a some ideas right now about how i might be able to keep them (in a cage) while i introduce the meat eaters but i am also working on building a truss to hang the new light set up.i am also looking in to maybe plumbing in a nano, just maybe. like jacobs 24 gal.
does anybody remember seeing raccoon butterfly's at petco?

| I have never seen one there. Hey if you are getting rid of a clam I will take it The cage might work, but I don't know how much light they would receive through it. | |

| heres what i would do nate... you knnow that hanging thing you have all your frags on? well, build one of those w/ light diffuser grid, just make all the sides extend out of the water, and have an open top. you'll get all the light you want and they wont be bothered. if you wanted to be able to see them better, you could make the front of the "cage" out of nylon screen(like for doors or window covers from home depot) | |

| i hadn't thought of going all the way up. this would allow for more direct light down on them but i would have to sacrifice some aesthetics lol to do that. | |
